How to Print Photos from Facebook Messenger
Someone sends a lovely photo in the family chat, and you want it on paper, not just on your screen. Messenger doesn't have a print button, but there are three easy ways to get there.
First: save the photo to your phone
Whatever you choose next, start here:
- Open the chat and tap its name at the top.
- Tap View media, files and links.
- Open the photo and tap Save or the download icon.
Need lots of photos from one chat? Our guide on how to save all photos from a Messenger chat walks through it.
Option 1: Print at home
Good for one or two photos.
- iPhone: open the photo in Photos, tap Share, then Print.
- Android: open the photo in Gallery or Google Photos, tap the three dots, then Print.
Use photo paper and your printer's "best" quality setting. Home prints are quick, but they fade faster and cost more per photo than you'd expect once you count ink.
Option 2: Use a print shop or kiosk
Good for a handful of standard prints. Send the saved photos to the shop's app or bring your phone to a kiosk. Prints are cheap, but you'll end up with an envelope of loose photos, and those tend to live in a drawer.
Option 3: Make a photo book in Messenger
Good for 30 or more photos, and for photos you want to keep together: a year of the family group, a trip, a birthday.
With Foreva the whole book is made inside Messenger:
- Open Foreva in Messenger from foreva.io.
- Give the album a cover title.
- Send 30–100 photos, a batch at a time or one by one, and type DONE.
- See the full preview in the chat within seconds. Blurry or dark photos are flagged.
- Approve and pay only if you're happy.
Every photo gets its own full page in a 20×20 cm hardcover, delivered in 5–7 working days with free shipping to the EU, EEA and UK. From €39 for 30 photos.
Getting the best print quality
- Ask for originals. Chat apps compress photos; the sender's camera roll has the full version.
- Skip screenshots and anything that looks blurry when you zoom in.
- Read more in will chat photos print well.
The bottom line
Save the photo, then print it at home, at a shop, or, if there are more than a few, send them to Foreva in Messenger and get them back as a book.
Frequently asked questions
Can I print a photo straight from Messenger?
Not directly. Save the photo to your phone first ('View media', open the photo, then Save), and print it from your Photos app or gallery.
What's the best way to print lots of Messenger photos?
A photo book. Instead of printing loose prints one by one, send 30–100 photos to Foreva in Messenger and get a hardcover album, with a preview in the chat before you pay.
Will Messenger photos be good enough to print?
Photos taken on a modern phone usually print well at 20×20 cm. Compressed or screenshot images can look soft, so use the originals where you can.
