Turn Your Family Messenger Group into a Photo Album

Every family has one: the Messenger group where birthday photos, first days at school and Sunday lunches get shared, admired for a minute, and then buried under the next hundred messages.

Those photos are your family's story. Here's how to get them out of the chat and into a book.

Step 1: Pick a theme

A clear theme makes choosing photos much easier:

• The year in the family group, January to December. See our year-in-review album guide.

• One event: a wedding, a big birthday, a family holiday.

Step 2: Collect the photos

1. Open the group and tap its name at the top.
2. Tap View media, files and links.
3. Open the photos you want and Save them to your phone.

Tip: the best photos are often still on the phone of whoever took them. Post a quick message in the group, "Making a family album, send me your 5 favourites from this year!", and you'll get originals at full quality.

Step 3: Choose 30 to 70 photos

You don't need all of them. Aim for a mix:

• the big moments and the everyday ones
• every family member at least once
• a few close-ups and a few wide shots

Step 4: Make the album in Messenger

You can make the whole book without leaving Messenger:

1. Open Foreva in Messenger.
2. Give it a cover title, like "The Papadopoulos family, 2026".
3. Send the photos in the order you'd like them, a batch at a time or one by one, and type DONE.
4. See the full preview in the chat within seconds, then approve.

Step 5: Share the result back in the group

When the album arrives, post a photo of it in the group. It closes the loop, and someone will almost certainly ask for the next one.
